Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Tutor - Graphic Arts to assist our Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher with program academics and curriculum offerings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in graphic arts, excellent technical skills, and the ability to provide classroom and hands-on instruction to students. Key Responsibilities

Assist the CTE teacher with program academics and curriculum offerings, including graphic design, photography, printing, silk screening, typography, and desktop publishing
Provide classroom and hands-on instruction to students, including demonstrations, workshops, and one-on-one support
Help control student behavior and direct students to ensure they can be successful in technical classes
Maintain Graphic Arts equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and teachers


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A high school diploma or equivalent, plus 60 semester or 90 quarter college credits, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
At least one year of experience as a job coach or in a closely related area
Directly related technical skills and creative process used in the graphic communications industry
Knowledge of graphic design, photography, printing, silk screening, typography, and desktop publishing
Occupational experience in related programs, such as automotive, carpentry, cooking, and horticulture
Considerable knowledge of grammar, including sentence structure, and basic math knowledge


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

A college-level course in the philosophies and practices of vocational education
Experience working with secondary students, particularly those with emotional or behavioral challenges
Knowledge of special education and areas of disabilities
Familiarity with classroom materials used in Career and Technical Education classes
Experience with equipment such as PC, Vinyl Cutter, Heat Press, Screen Printing Press, Design Tablet, and Large Format Printer

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

Excellent technical skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar software packages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members
Flexibility and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and instructional strategies
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and make decisions about student behavior
Basic skills in reading, mathematics, and other content areas
