About the Role: Substitute Teacher We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our community of educators in South Bound Brook, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments, work on your own schedule, and gain hands-on teaching experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Adapt to different teaching environments and curricula, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students. Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation. Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents to ensure seamless collaboration and address any concerns. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices. Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role. Specialized training or certifications in areas like Special Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), or STEM education. Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive teaching practices. Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools. Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies.
