Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and responsible Study Hall Monitors to join our team at Worcester State University. As a Study Hall Monitor, you will play a vital role in supporting student-athletes in their academic pursuits, while also enforcing rules and maintaining a positive study environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience, develop their skills, and make a meaningful impact on our campus community.

Key Responsibilities


Monitor behavior and enforce rules in student-athlete study halls, ensuring a quiet and focused environment.
Assist student-athletes in finding campus resources for tutoring, advising, and other academic support services.
Mentor and guide student-athletes in their academic endeavors, providing guidance and support when needed.
Sign students in and out using the Accutrack computer program, with minimal prior knowledge required.
Work collaboratively with the student-athlete team and other university staff to ensure a positive and productive study environment.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:


Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes and university staff.
Minimal sports knowledge, but a willingness to learn and support student-athletes in their academic pursuits.
A minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrating academic excellence and a commitment to academic success.
The ability to supervise behavior and enforce rules in a fair and consistent manner.
Availability to work 4-6 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs.
