**Role Overview**

As a Special Education Teacher (SPED) with The Stepping Stones Group, you will have the opportunity to work with students with diverse needs and abilities, providing individualized instruction and support to help them reach their full potential. **Key Responsibilities**

* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student
* Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs, including those with autism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities
* Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support
* Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of each student
* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the educational process
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education

**Essential Qualifications**

* Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
* Current license as a Special Education Teacher in South Carolina
* Experience working with students with special needs, including those with autism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities
* Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience working in a school-based setting
* Knowledge of differentiated instruction and universal design for learning (UDL)
* Experience with behavior management and crisis intervention techniques
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
