How You'll Contribute to blithequark's Success As a Spark Data Engineer at blithequark, you will play a crucial role in driving the design and development of features and solutions related to data analysis, data transformation, data modeling, and data visualization. Your responsibilities will include: Driving the design and development of features and solutions connected with data analysis, data transformation, data modeling, and data visualization. Developing well-designed, testable, efficient solutions using best software development practices. Designing, developing, testing, documenting, deploying, monitoring, and supporting code. Participating in a scrum team consistently delivering incremental high-quality code and reports to production. Interacting with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources. Providing visibility over plans and status to different stakeholders (IT). Working side by side with Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Owners defining and supporting platforms and applications. Supporting, mentoring, and coaching junior engineers. Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in creating testable code and reports. Experience with Business Intelligence Data Visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Microstrategy, etc. Strong knowledge of social SQL databases and non-social databases. Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Scala, R. Knowledge of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools. Experience using CI/CD tools - GitHub, GoCD, Terraform, or possibly Azure DevOps. Strong knowledge of data modeling and architecture. Knowledge of developing applications using public cloud, preferably Azure, highly interested in Data Services. Understanding of Agile Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps best practices. Strong understanding of Git-based version control. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming. Familiarity with one of the following languages: Java, NodeJS, C#. Experience working in a global, distributed team, with in-house and external delivery resources. Working on one Agile lifecycle management tool like Jira or Azure DevOps. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable: Experience with machine learning algorithms and data science concepts. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies. Familiarity with containerization using Docker. Experience with automated testing and deployment scripts.
