Key Responsibilities As a Senior Data Scientist at Disney, your key responsibilities will include: Providing leadership and strategic vision for the data science team, focusing on omni-channel analysis across brick and mortar and e-commerce platforms Leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with analysts, technical partners, and business leaders to establish a roadmap for improvement based on business needs Translating business requirements into technical product specifications to guide development Leading solution design meetings, aligning strategies with business drivers, challenges, and long-term objectives Designing efficient data pipelines to address business problems, utilizing technical tools and retail systems Setting and implementing data science team best practices and leading code reviews for colleagues Creating compelling visuals, charts, and graphs that resonate with data, tailoring them to various audiences Utilizing advanced analytical techniques (regression, machine learning, clustering) to drive significant insights Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: 2+ years of experience developing analytical, statistical, or machine learning models to extract insights and address business challenges, ideally in a retail setting Expertise in web analytics and customer segmentation using data to drive informed decisions and improve online experiences Experience leading small teams in rapid and accurate data analysis, feature definition, and creative problem-solving for business challenges Ability to work on complex problems, developing data-driven stories for guidance Cloud platform/tech expertise Proficiency in machine learning or artificial intelligence methods Ability to perform root cause analysis and underlying driver analysis Success in fast-paced, changing environments Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications for this role include: Knowledge of different project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum) Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team and individual interaction Proficiency in various data technology areas, including: Data pipelines and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep) Database platforms, including Snowflake and SQL Server Scripting languages (e.g., Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, Python) Statistical and data science languages (e.g., R, SAS, Python for data science) Experience with advanced analytical techniques (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, Time Series) Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex data insights to various audiences Strong technical skills, including proficiency in machine learning, data visualization, and data manipulation Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business needs and develop data-driven solutions to drive growth and improvement Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Disney, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
