Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care and support to students, including administering medications, treating injuries, and providing health education Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with special needs, in collaboration with educators and support staff Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify student health needs and develop strategies to address them Collaborate with educators and support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our students Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to provide updates on student health and well-being Maintain accurate and confidential records of student health information, in accordance with blithequark's policies and procedures Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A valid Illinois Professional Educator License, with applicable endorsement(s) A current LPN license, with experience working in a school or healthcare setting Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures, including health assessment, health education, and health promotion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff Ability to create positive relationships with students, parents, and other staff, and to provide a positive, safe, and academically challenging learning environment Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess the following preferred qualifications: Experience working in a school setting, with a strong understanding of the educational system and the needs of students Knowledge of best practices related to teaching and pedagogy, including the ability to interpret and implement IEPs Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong nursing skills, including health assessment, health education, and health promotion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff Ability to create positive relationships with students, parents, and other staff, and to provide a positive, safe, and academically challenging learning environment Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
