As a key member of our Revenue Management crew within the Business Organization Division, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and maximizing sales for a geographic location within American's network. About American Airlines and the Revenue Management Team American Airlines is a leading global airline that offers an extensive network of flights to over 365 destinations worldwide. Our Revenue Management team is responsible for applying data and analytics to predict demand and adjust pricing to maximize revenue from American's inventory. This involves a combination of art and science, as we strive to "promote the right product to the right customer at the right price at the right time." Our team is comprised of several key areas, including Pricing & Yield Management, Sales Engineering, Loyalty, and Sales Packages. Key Responsibilities Maximize sales for a geographic location within American's network by using advanced models and tools to forecast changes to the competitive environment and passenger demand. Develop in-depth knowledge of the marketplace and pricing/yield strategies to drive a competitive advantage based on customer buying behavior. Leverage a range of news and research to identify high-level trends and strategies, and make evidence-based decisions to drive revenue growth. Collaborate with business counterparts and develop relationships with partner groups, such as Network Planning, Marketing, Sales, and Alliances, to identify opportunities to improve revenue performance. Present unique analysis and strategies to senior leadership, design departmental business strategies, analyze the impact of fare and inventory changes on market performance, and work on ad hoc projects associated with the airline's strategic goals. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Aviation Management, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Thorough expertise in the core economics that drive the airline industry, with the ability to translate regional trends into market-level movements. Demonstrated analytical competencies, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, extract pertinent information, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations. The ability to use data to make evidence-based decisions, negotiate, influence others, and create consensus to achieve results. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates who possess the following: A Master's degree in a related field. Experience in the airline industry or a related field. A proven track record of success in revenue management or a related area.
