Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sales Associate to join our team in Chattaroy, WA. As a Sales Associate at blithequark, you will act as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, stock merchandise adequately, and perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets. Key Responsibilities Unload trucks and follow company work processes to receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor Build merchandise displays and stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers by locating merchandise Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom Comply with company policies and procedures and greet customers Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise Collect payment from customer and make change Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills Understanding of safety policies and practices Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures Basic mathematical skills Ability to perform IBM cash register functions High school diploma or equivalent preferred Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Prior experience in a retail environment Experience with cash handling and operating a cash register Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
