Job Summary As a Merchandise and Stocking Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our store is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving and processing shipments, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and safe store environment, and providing excellent customer service. You will be an integral part of our team, working collaboratively with other associates to achieve our goals and deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities Unload trucks and receive shipments, ensuring that all merchandise is properly stored and organized Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain a clean and tidy store environment Assist members with purchasing decisions, locate merchandise, and resolve any issues or concerns Maintain a high level of customer service, responding to member inquiries and providing support as needed Collaborate with other associates to achieve sales goals, maintain store appearance, and ensure a positive shopping experience Participate in inventory management, including counting, tracking, and reporting inventory levels Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service Physical ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise, including heavy objects weighing up to 25 pounds Basic math skills, including the ability to count, calculate, and process transactions Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other associates to achieve common goals Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or a related field Knowledge of inventory management, including counting, tracking, and reporting inventory levels Ability to operate a forklift or other equipment, with certification or training provided Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a point-of-sale system and other software applications High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on continuing education and professional development Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other associates to achieve common goals Physical ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise, including heavy objects weighing up to 25 pounds Basic math skills, including the ability to count, calculate, and process transactions Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Sam's Club, we are committed to providing our associates with opportunities for growth and development.
