About the Role We are seeking highly skilled and passionate linguists to join our team as Remote Transcription and Translation Services providers. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a contract basis, providing translation and editing services for legal materials. As a remote linguist, you will have the flexibility to work on a need-basis, with timelines that can be flexible to accommodate your schedule. Your primary responsibilities will include: Transcribing conversations verbatim from video and/or audio materials Translating words from target languages into English Providing high-quality language services that meet our clients' needs Collaborating with our team of in-house experts to achieve our clients' goals Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: Be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, or Permanent US Resident, living and working in the US at the time of the project Have experience in translation and/or interpreting, with a strong understanding of linguistic principles and practices Hold a security clearance, which is essential for working with sensitive materials Any certification, such as being a current voting member in good standing of the American Translators Association, or a certified and registered interpreter on the Judicial Council Master List, is a plus but not required A degree in Translation or Interpretation is also desirable, but not necessary Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience working with legal materials and terminology Familiarity with translation software and technologies Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team and clients Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong linguistic skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex ideas Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines Cultural competence, with an understanding of diverse languages and communities Career Growth Opportunities At Accent on Languages, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
