As a Remote Employment Tax Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for tax compliance and regulatory affairs. **Job Summary** As a Remote Employment Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and filing employment tax returns, including state unemployment, state and local withholding, state disability, and specialty employment taxes. You will also be responsible for analyzing tax assessment notices, researching, and initiating problem resolution in a timely manner. Additionally, you will maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, develop strong relationships with our clients, and provide exceptional customer service. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare and file employment tax returns, including state unemployment, state and local withholding, state disability, and specialty employment taxes * Analyze tax assessment notices, research, and initiate problem resolution in a timely manner * Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, including the IRS and state and local tax authorities * Develop strong relationships with our clients, including payroll service center analysts and unemployment consultants * Provide exceptional customer service, responding to questions and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner * Prepare and file regulatory reconciliation forms, including quarterly and year-end returns * Reconcile W-2 reports, communicate discrepancies to payroll analysts, and resolve issues with rejected files * Format and submit state W-2 records according to individual state filing requirements * Research and communicate with regulatory agencies regarding tax payments and discrepancies **Critical Working Relationships** * Payroll Service Center (PSC) Payroll Analysts * Unemployment Consultants * Regulatory Agencies **Education and Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred) * Multi-state and local employment tax experience (required) * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (required) * Experience with tax preparation software (preferred) * BNA or CCH tax research databases experience (preferred) * Experience in the payroll/employment tax field (required) **Specific Skills** * Excellent ability to exercise good judgment * Ability to adjust to changing situations and priorities * Communication skills (oral and written) **Preferred Knowledge** * General Ledger and Intercompany Accounting * Lawson Payroll System and/or BSI * Empower/FLS Tax Software **Physical Demands** * Prolonged sitting * Occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs. **Benefits** * Performance bonus * Paid Holidays * Employee Referral Program * Vacation/paid time off * Parking * Paid sick days **About the Company** Nesco Resource is a leading provider of workforce solutions, specializing in contract, contract-to-hire, direct placement services, and managed services for a variety of industries.
