About the Job
In this role, you will be working as a Data Entry Specialist, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data entry processes. As a key member of our team, you will be collaborating with cross-functional groups, including Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders to drive key initiatives and improvements. Your expertise in data analysis, SQL, and Python will be essential in assessing data, conducting in-depth analysis, and creating comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the automation of journal entries.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key initiatives and improvements, including the development of accounting data requirements and the automation of journal entries
Assess data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth analysis and creating comprehensive accounting data requirements
Lead functional improvement initiatives to streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases
Work with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team
Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or the need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger
Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned


Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data; Python a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally


Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
Knowledge of accounting systems and software, such as ERP and accounting platforms
Experience with project management and process improvement initiatives
Certifications in accounting or related fields, such as CPA or CMA
