About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of a Data Entry Clerk, supporting our Quest Diagnostics operations. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, and comes with a competitive salary and a range of benefits. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our medical billing and administration processes, ensuring that all data is accurately entered and processed in a timely manner. Primary Responsibilities Data entry of billing mnemonics and all required billing information that appears on imaged requisitions, including US postal addresses, medical codes, and insurance carrier details. Following procedural guidelines to enter information into our systems and answering patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Navigating multiple computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, online applications, and mainframe applications, to perform data entry tasks efficiently. Conducting basic research in computer applications to resolve data entry issues, such as address, billing codes, and reject codes. Data entry utilizing templates for letters and other correspondences, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Data entry, transfer, and entry of received data from Quest Diagnostics into required applications to initiate the billing cycle. Researching mail returns and updating invoices with current information in the appropriate billing system, noting patient bills with actions taken. Researching denied bills due to patient not being covered on the date of service, errors with patient information, or insurance information provided in the claim/bill, and resolving issues for re-billing. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: At least 1 year of data entry experience, with a strong track record of accuracy and efficiency. Customer service experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages. Proficiency with computers, Windows PC, and web applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications. Ability to work 40 hours/week during standard business operating hours, Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional overtime on weekends and holidays as required. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Medical billing experience, with a solid understanding of medical or health insurance terminology. Proven knowledge of medical or health insurance terminology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a data entry context. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to navigate and utilize complex spreadsheets.
