Job Overview and Responsibilities In this exciting role, you'll be part of the A319/A320/A321 Fleet Engineering Team within our Technical Operations Division. Your primary focus will be on providing engineering support for various aircraft systems, improving reliability through project management, and troubleshooting operational issues. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for: Staying informed about day-to-day airline operations and assessing daily priorities in accordance with airline and departmental objectives Investigating aircraft and component problems, determining corrective actions, and providing engineering support to resolve issues Developing action plans for fleet and component engineering projects, pursuing final dispositions, and coordinating with other departments for effective implementation Preparing engineering documents, providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, and inspections, and ensuring compliance with airline and departmental objectives Responding to requests from maintenance and other departments, providing technical assistance, and supporting projects and problem resolution Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you'll need: A strong foundation in engineering, aviation, or a related field, with a focus on aircraft systems and operations Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions Strong communication and coordination skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Proficiency in data entry, with attention to detail and accuracy Familiarity with project management principles and practices, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not required, the following qualifications and experience will be considered an asset: Previous experience in aviation, engineering, or a related field, with a focus on aircraft maintenance and operations Knowledge of aircraft systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems Familiarity with engineering software and tools, such as CAD, CAE, and FEA Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data analysis and statistical methods Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Airlines, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
