As a key member of our Expanded Learning Program, you will play a vital role in providing academic support, tutoring, and enrichment activities to students in our after-school program. Key Responsibilities Provide academic support and tutoring to students in the after-school program, under the direction of the Expanded Learning Program Assist in leading after-school staff in engaging academic and enriching activities that promote student development and achievement Monitor student attendance, check-in/check-out procedures, and program requirements Develop and implement strategies to support students' academic, physical, and social growth Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to student support Maintain accurate records and reports, as required by the district and program Requirements and Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Two years of college (48 units) or pass the District's assessment that demonstrates knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction or pass the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) Associate's degree highly desirable Experience: Some experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an organized setting Some experience using computers, software, and other technology tools and resources relevant to providing academic and clerical support Experience working with individuals with special developmental needs is desirable Experience working in a lead capacity highly desirable, preferably in an educational environment Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community partners Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Familiarity with educational software and technology Examination Process The examination process may include: Application screening (pass/fail) Written exam (if applicable) Performance exam (pass/fail) Qualification appraisal interview (weighted 100%) Salary and Benefits The salary range for this position is $20.63 - $25.75 per hour.
