Key Responsibilities As a Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician, your primary responsibility will be to answer incoming calls for the call center, addressing queries and requests from providers and members or their representatives regarding pharmacy prior authorizations, exceptions, and appeals. This role does not involve outbound cold calls, allowing you to focus on providing excellent customer service and support. Your duties will include: Triage requests by providers and/or members/members' representatives for pharmacy prior authorizations, exceptions, and appeals Enter authorizations and test claims into the pharmacy benefit system to ensure appropriate claim adjudication Perform system edits, data entry, and complete tracking logs as required Assist with departmental audits and quality improvement activities to maintain high standards of service and compliance Work Schedule and Training This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. Upon hiring, you will undergo a comprehensive training program that lasts approximately 3-4 weeks. This training is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your role, including familiarization with the company's systems, policies, and procedures. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must meet the following essential qualifications: National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy operations Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred and may give you a competitive edge in the application process: Previous experience in a call center or customer service environment, particularly in healthcare or pharmacy services Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management systems and software Experience with data entry and tracking logs, with high accuracy and attention to detail Certification or training in areas such as HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and pharmaceutical regulations Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of pharmacy technology.
