Job Overview
The Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements and processes are adequately documented and communicated to stakeholders. This will involve identifying and determining business requirements, defining processes, and recommending solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract, tabulate, and analyze data to support program activity and assist management with decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and determine business requirements and define processes, including clarification on any requirement discrepancies.
Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
Extract, tabulate, and analyze data to support program activity and assist management with decision making.
Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations related to new processes, functionalities, and/or proposed solutions.
Process all Production Support Requests by receiving defect reports and cross-referencing the defect with the business requirements.
Identify innovative strategies to increase operational and system efficiencies.
Work closely with business process owners, operations, users, and systems staff to define requirements, test criteria, and success factors.
Document and review all business process flows.
Facilitate effective business meetings with internal project staff as well as client staff, as appropriate.
Work effectively with internal and external business partners to deliver solutions.
Identify, analyze, and communicate all system and process defects.
Provide production support for operations.
Monitor process data to identify potential systems and process issues.


Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered. You will need to have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Similar work experience in business analysis, identifying and documenting business requirements to support business processes.
Demonstrated ability to work with business and systems teams to develop business requirements for system design and development.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with business owners to understand business needs and document business processes.
Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
Demonstrated strong analytical/statistical skills.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and accurately.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and other computer software applications.
Knowledge of Medicaid managed care, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), HIPAA compliance, and New York program, social service, geographic, and demographic environments, preferred.
Knowledge of call center operations preferred.
Experience facilitating joint application development (JAD) sessions preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of Business Process Modeling, preferred.
