Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Neurology team at our Stanwood, Michigan location. As a full-time night shift RN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with complex neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and neurosurgical patients. Key Responsibilities Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care Acts as a patient/family advocate and provides emotional support and education to patients and their families Performs point of care testing as required and documents results accurately and timely Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior and adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses Assesses the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzes the assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues Develops and implements an individualized interprofessional plan of care that recommends strategies to achieve outcomes in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies while continually evaluating progress toward achievement of goals/outcomes Essential Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License required upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in acute neurology or a related field Certification in neuroscience nursing (CNRN) or a related specialty Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages spoken in the local community Skills and Competencies Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex patient data and develop effective plans of care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care Strong emotional intelligence and empathy, with the ability to provide compassionate and supportive care to patients and their families Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities Career Growth and Development Opportunities At Corewell Health, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our team members.
