Experienced Programming Coordinator for ACC Network – Strategic Scheduling, Content Strategy, and Sports Media Expertise

As a key player in the Programming Department, you will contribute to the development and implementation of content strategies across linear and digital networks and platforms, maximizing viewership and revenue. Job Overview The Programming Coordinator will work closely with the ACC Network Programming team to support day-to-day operations, contribute to content strategy, and ensure the successful execution of programming initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of the sports media industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external rights holders. Key Responsibilities Assist in strategic scheduling on ACC Network, including the development of annual studio and live event schedules, game selections for linear and digital platforms, and ensuring schedule composition adheres to contractual obligations and maximizes grant of rights. Support the ACC Network programming team in creating presentation materials, historical program summaries, future schedules, ratings tracks, and other schedule-related tasks. Handle Content Scheduler responsibilities for digital and linear events, including ratings, scheduling, APF’s, and other related tasks. Collaborate with Marketing, Production, Finance, Communications, and Social Media teams to distribute schedules and manage event counts. Provide strategic and analytical support to Programming Management regarding the on-air placement of current and future programming. Contribute to the overall scheduling strategy for ESPN across platforms as a member of the Programming Department. Proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue growing ESPN’s business and stay ahead in the sports media industry. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: At least 1+ years of experience in a professional work setting, preferably in the sports media industry. Strong overall sports knowledge, with a focus on college sports and specifically ACC knowledge. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and current social media platforms. General knowledge of the sports media industry and landscape. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Highly organized and efficient, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Two years of work experience in the sports media industry, television programming, and/or professional or college sports. Familiarity with reading and comprehending legal contracts. Familiarity with media and footage rights. Familiarity with TV and digital audience measurement. Knowledge of Content Scheduler system. Education Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required for this role.
