Experienced Production Supervisor for 3rd Shift Operations - Leadership Role in a Dynamic Dairy Manufacturing Environment

About the Role The Production Supervisor will play a vital role in our new 340,000 square foot conversion facility in Franklin, WI, contributing to Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. As a key stakeholder, you will directly supervise production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position requires a strong leader who can plan, assign, and direct work, address and resolve product and employee concerns, and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant. Ensure proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines. Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments to machines. Coordinate and communicate production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of production run assignments. Evaluate and anticipate production volume adjustments, daily assignment of duties, and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production run schedules. Using ERP systems, complete production data entry results and reporting to include production results, volume, OEE, planned/unplanned downtime by product type and order. Complete and review production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports and investigations, and any other documents. Coordinate and conduct employee training (i.e., job, safety, etc.) and monitor work performance. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Using CI methods, analyze, identify, and communicate root cause and preventive measures to proactively resolve work problems. Maintain time and production records as required. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to meet performance objectives. Provide supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, and performance management. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you should have: One to three years of supervisory experience in a food packaging environment preferred. A minimum of an Associate's degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. Proficient with ERP solutions, SAP preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and pay attention to details. Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees. Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, in support of plant operations. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a dairy or food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable laws. Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
