As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing product designs, creating the processes, tools, and methodologies behind Google's robust search technology, and ensuring that manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled when vendors assemble parts for our infrastructure.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, the Technical Infrastructure team makes Google's product portfolio possible. As a Product Engineer, you will collaborate with Product Managers and Design Architects to determine Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications, ensuring that the different components of Google's system fit together seamlessly to provide a smooth and consistent user experience.


Key Responsibilities

Lead reviews among Design and Operations Engineering to drive expectations that are critical to implementing Design For Excellence (DFX) and test strategy
Ensure plant readiness, support manufacturing line ramp, provide product investigate training, and gather feedback on form issues
Manage the bone pile and drive yield span analysis to improve product quality
Work with the Product team to identify risks and develop mitigation plans
Collaborate with Quality Engineers to establish product quality and reliability targets, validate product capability plans, support reliability testing, and review results to ensure product performance meets requirements
Coordinate the release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bill of Materials (BOMs) into Product Data Management (PDM) system, support second source part qualification, and release of ECOs and MCOs



Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. You should have at least 3 years of experience in an organization creating supply chains in manufacturing and testing, with experience working with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), contract manufacturers, and component suppliers for data center server-type products.
Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of ASIC DFT and ATE test processes, as well as post-silicon validation. Knowledge of SQL queries and scripting in Python or Bash is also essential.


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, preferred qualifications include experience making and executing a plan validation test plan for a complex electronic assembly, as well as experience working with ODMs, Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers for data center class server accelerator products (e.g., GPU, FPGA, or ASIC).
Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering results and driving process improvements, would be highly advantageous.


Skills and Competencies
To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design Engineering, and Quality Engineering.
You should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive yield span analysis and improve product quality. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, would be beneficial.
Furthermore, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
