Key Responsibilities
As a Physician Assistant at Aetna, you will be responsible for:

Providing Essential and Family confirmed care comprehensive of accurate evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, management of medical issues, health counseling, and behavior anticipating for patients
Performing administrative duties, including opening/closing the facility, stock management, patient movement, checking insurance, and collecting payment, as well as maintaining a clean environment
Handling patient appointments and performing steering assessments to ensure positive patient health outcomes
Conducting consultations with patients about healthy lifestyle decisions, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care
Encouraging patients to become active participants in their healthcare and wellness through services like health screenings, social health, and health education, ongoing conditions management


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

To provide comprehensive, evidence-based care, including education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, and safer sex practices
To order and administer vaccinations and injections (including COVID-19, flu, TB, and Depo) and provide evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education
A minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent
To complete the Dot certification test within 30 days of employment
Depending on the market, the ability to be proficient in both speaking and writing in additional languages, including Spanish
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including performing mouth-to-mouth and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
To pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

Prior student precepting rotation with MinuteClinic, although not required, is desirable if you have less than one year of work experience as a licensed provider


Education and Training
To be eligible for this role, you will need:

A Master's degree-level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Accreditation and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role
Or, in select states, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or other health-related Master's degree or equivalent experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in science in Physician Assistant Studies) with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role
