Experienced Pharmacy Technician – Remote Customer Service Representative for Walgreens

Job Summary As a Remote Customer Service Representative for Walgreens, you will be responsible for handling patient inquiries, processing new patient enrollments, and resolving issues related to medication and patient data. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to ensure seamless communication and provide exceptional customer service to our patients. Key Responsibilities Process new patient enrollments by entering information into our pharmacy systems, adhering to state and government guidelines. Handle patient medication requests and enter refill orders for processing, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Investigate and resolve missing medication data, deciphering clinical abbreviations (SIG codes) as needed. Settle all information passage-related exceptions, ensuring accurate and timely resolution. Handle correspondence with patients (inbound calls, visits, messages) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as necessary. Resolve external exceptions by evaluating, gathering data, making adjustments, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and remotely, identifying and communicating issues to senior-level staff as needed. Obtain and maintain a valid professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment. Essential Capabilities Fundamental computer skills, including starting and closing the computer, using a mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between applications, saving files, printing reports, and accessing data online. Basic web search skills, including opening a browser, typing URLs in the address bar, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms. Moderate-level keyboarding skills, including typing at least 25 words per minute, typing by memory, and designing reports. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Capabilities At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment. No less than one and a half years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a state-issued license or certification from a recognized certification agency. Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction. Moderate to advanced-level keyboarding skills, including typing at least 35 words per minute, typing by memory, and designing reports.
