Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and qualified part-time Title I Tutor to work with small groups and individual students in reading and math. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and tutoring, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a part-time employee, you will work 19 hours per week during the school year, with a competitive hourly rate of $15.32 or $16.08, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Administer reading and math tests to identify student achievement levels and determine instructional needs Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to develop and implement individualized learning plans Provide targeted support to small groups and individual students in reading and math Maintain accurate records and track student progress, including gathering data for state and federal reports Attend in-service classes, building meetings, and monthly program meetings Prepare tutoring areas and construct learning materials Communicate with parents and families as directed by teachers or administrators Operate educational equipment, such as tape recorders, VCRs, and overhead projectors Essential Qualifications: Minimum of 32 core college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis Knowledge and skill in teaching and using math and reading, including phonetic pronunciation of vowels, consonants, phrases, and words Ability to administer standardized and diagnostic tests Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed Computer knowledge and experience with word processing, email, and spreadsheets Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with students in a tutoring or teaching capacity Experience with educational software and technology Bilingual or multilingual skills Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators. You will also need to be organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
