Key Responsibilities As a Front Office Clerk/Receptionist, your primary responsibilities will include: Scheduling Appointments: Answering telephone calls promptly and professionally Obtaining and entering accurate demographic information in the EMR Scheduling appointments correctly, reviewing date, time, location, and provider name with callers Informing callers of required documents and verification processes Reminding callers of cancellation/no-show policies and arrival times Acting as Liaison: Directing calls to other departments as needed Handling calls with empathy and professionalism, especially with upset patients Escalating calls to physicians, practice managers, or triage nurses when necessary Servicing Patients: Making reminder calls and rescheduling appointments as needed Providing assistance with mailings and other projects Other Duties: Performing other reasonable related duties as assigned by supervisors or managers Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must possess: Essential Qualifications: Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and ability to quickly learn new systems Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Customer Service: A patient-centered approach, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and support Preferred Qualifications: Medical Reception Experience: 2+ years of experience as a medical receptionist or in a related field Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish or Korean Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you must possess: Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Multitasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced, call-center environment, handling multiple calls and tasks simultaneously Judgment: Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle calls and situations appropriately Customer Focus: A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits We are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
