As a remote customer service specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to making a difference in the lives of our patients and families. **Responsibilities** As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for: * Navigating our electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining accountability for accurate data entry. * Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. * Leveraging critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity. * Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and collecting and documenting demographics. * Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions, and communicating directly with providers to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours. * Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time. **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need: * A high school diploma or GED * 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner * Proficiency in electronic health records and other job aids and resources * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working in a healthcare setting or customer service environment * Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare software systems * Certification in customer service or a related field **Benefits and Compensation** As a remote customer service specialist with blithequark, you will enjoy a competitive compensation package, including: * A comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services * Disability insurance paid for by blithequark * Pension Plan and 403(b) Plan funded by blithequark * 401(k) plan with blithequark match * Tuition Assistance available on the first day * BJC Institute for Learning and Development * Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts * Paid Time Off benefit combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and personal time * Adoption assistance **Work Environment and Culture** As a remote customer service specialist with blithequark, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment that values teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
