About the Advanced Platforms Data Insights Team
The Advanced Platforms Data Insights group is seeking an ML Data Specialist to join the Product and User Analysis team. This team is passionate about fostering the next generation of analytical solutions working closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Planning. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of a data-driven team to drive the research, evaluation, development, implementation, and assessment of analytical solutions that are essential to maintaining our business success.
You will be responsible for turning the massive amounts of data generated by user search, app content, and store context into business insights that enhance the user experience for end-users while driving discovery and efficiency for app developers. Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Insights: Transform complex datasets from user searches, app content, and platform interactions into actionable business insights that drive product improvements and user experience enhancements
Machine Learning Collaboration: Work closely with machine learning engineers and data scientists to meet the data needs of the business, translating business requirements into technical specifications
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineering teams, finance, and planning to influence overall product strategy through data-driven recommendations
A/B Testing and Experimentation: Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests and experiments to evaluate product changes and feature launches
Dashboard Development: Build and maintain insightful dashboards and reporting mechanisms that track key performance metrics and business KPIs
Quantitative Analysis: Conduct complex quantitative analyses including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis to uncover patterns and trends
Data Pipeline Optimization: Work with data engineers to ensure efficient data pipelines and database modeling that support business analytics needs
Communication: Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence product decisions
Essential Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
Professional Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in data science or analytics roles, preferably in the technology or digital advertising industry
Technical Expertise: Strong programming skills in Python and SQL with hands-on experience working with clickstream data and A/B experimentation
Cloud and Tool Experience: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Snowflake, Spark, and visualization tools such as Tableau
Statistical Knowledge: Strong foundation in complex quantitative analysis methodologies including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series forecasting
Data Infrastructure: Understanding of database modeling and data warehousing principles
Experience with Large Datasets: Demonstrated experience conducting analyses on large-scale datasets
