Job Summary As a Package Delivery Driver, you'll be responsible for the secure and effective transfer of commodities to various destinations under the custody of multiple customers. Your duties will include conducting pre-journey and post-journey assessments, managing the loading and unloading of merchandise, and ensuring timely distribution of products while maintaining superior client servicing standards. You'll be expected to adhere to all DOT provisions and internal business guidelines, making you an integral part of our logistics team. Key Responsibilities Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times, ensuring on-time arrival and departure Carefully unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand, and place them in designated customer storage areas Verify the accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy in all interactions Perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience, providing a positive and lasting impression of US Foods Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Be at least 21 years of age Hold a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications Have a minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry Be able to read and communicate in the English language, holding conversations, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are preferred: Ability to operate manual transmission, as required in specific locations Previous experience in a similar delivery driver role, demonstrating a proven track record of success Physical Requirements As a Package Delivery Driver, you'll be required to: Repetitively handle products weighing between 20 and 80+ lbs. during each shift, requiring physical strength and endurance Efficiently drive and perform job duties in harsh weather conditions while making frequent stops (over 10 each shift) What We Offer At US Foods, we're committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Weekly pay, ensuring timely compensation for your hard work A 401(k) plan with an automatic contribution of 2%, and a company match of up to an additional 6% Opportunities for career growth and professional development, with a focus on promoting from within A dynamic work environment that values employee contributions and fosters a culture of excellence Why Join US Foods?
