Workwarp is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team on a 7-month contract basis. As a remote opportunity, you'll have the freedom to work from anywhere, but be prepared to work overnight and weekend shifts. About the Role We're looking for a highly skilled Oracle DBA to take on a critical role in maintaining, administering, and ensuring the smooth operation of our Oracle databases. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, from daily maintenance and monitoring to database upgrades, performance tuning, and security management. Key Responsibilities Database Maintenance and Administration: Perform daily monitoring and maintenance tasks, including backup and recovery, patching, and upgrading database versions. Database Upgrades: Work with project managers to plan and execute database upgrades, managing individual projects and ensuring seamless transitions. Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and other techniques to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation. Security and Integrity: Maintain security and integrity controls, ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of sensitive data. Scripting and Development: Develop and maintain shell scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to automate tasks and improve database functionality. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation on database design, configuration, and procedures. Problem Management: Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, working closely with stakeholders to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience). A minimum of 6 years of Oracle production support DBA experience, with a strong background in RMAN, OEM, and RAC. Experience working with large, multi-node RAC databases. Proven expertise with Oracle 19c databases. Knowledge or experience with PostGres SQL. Familiarity with database architecture, including logical and physical design. Flexibility and willingness to work on-call, overnights, and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded: Additional experience with other database management systems. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages. Strong understanding of database security and compliance regulations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
