**Job Summary**

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You will work closely with our MD of Ocean, as well as our global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables. Your expertise will be essential in implementing and communicating strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product
* Work closely with the MD of Ocean to develop and implement strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality
* Analyze carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues
* Support sales and operations as an ocean subject matter expert
* Implement and communicate pricing programs to increase volumes and maximize competitiveness
* Review volume targets and work with the TLM to develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
* Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables
* Direct and indirect customer contact will also be required
* Work closely with product, sales, and operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize company risk exposure and enhance service quality
* Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
* Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required
* Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product
* Support sales and operations as needed
* Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets
* Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

**Essential Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing
* Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
* Familiar with Microsoft Office apps
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Master's degree or higher
* Additional experience in the logistics industry
* Experience in a similar role or with a similar company
