We're now seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Global Software Organization as a Night Shift Software Support Engineer, working remotely and providing critical second-level customer support. About the Position: Night Shift Software Support Engineer As a Night Shift Software Support Engineer at Dematic, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences through your technical expertise and collaborative approach. Key Responsibilities Provide remote, second-level customer support on a rotating schedule of 12-hour night shifts, working four nights on and four nights off. Collaborate closely with customers, first-level technicians, and software/technical engineers to effectively resolve complex customer issues. Assist project and technical engineers in the integration of new systems, ensuring seamless implementation and minimizing downtime. Support technical and development personnel in application quality testing, providing valuable insights and expertise. Participate in on-site activities, such as installing, commissioning, and testing material handling solutions, as required. Deliver specified technical support to customers on-site, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved promptly. Troubleshoot server hardware, Ethernet networks, and other peripherals, such as printers, to identify and resolve technical issues. Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specification documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours, providing critical support and ensuring business continuity. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in software development, networking, and hardware engineering. The ideal candidate will have: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of computer science principles and software development methodologies. At least 2 years of experience in software, network, and/or hardware engineering positions, preferably in the Material Handling Industry, showcasing your ability to apply technical skills in a practical setting. Experience with Oracle databases, demonstrating your ability to design, develop, and support database-driven applications. Experience with MS SQL Database, highlighting your skills in database administration, query optimization, and data modeling. Experience with Windows operating systems, showcasing your ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge: Experience with multiple programming languages, such as Java, C++, or Python, demonstrating your versatility and adaptability. Knowledge of networking protocols and architectures, showcasing your understanding of network design and implementation. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, highlighting your ability to manage and deliver high-quality IT services.
