About the Role
As a Medical Transcriptionist with Optum, you will play a critical role in providing medical transcription services directly to providers. This includes transcribing dictated information through the use of word processing to produce medical and clinical documents. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all documents are accurate, complete, and meet our high standards.
Responsibilities
* Apply your knowledge and skills to activities that often vary from day to day, demonstrating a moderate level of knowledge and skills in your function.
* Prioritize and organize your work to meet agreed-upon deadlines, working with others as part of a team.
* Solve routine problems on your own, and work with your supervisor to solve more complex problems.
* Apply your knowledge of medical terminology to transcribe dictated information accurately and efficiently.
* Meet productivity and quality standards, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Work collaboratively with our team to ensure that all documents are accurate, complete, and meet our high standards.
Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
* Ability to work between the hours of 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM EST from Monday - Wednesday and 9:00 am - 4:00 pm EST on Thursdays.
* Previous experience with transcribing is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience with medical transcription software and equipment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet productivity and quality standards.
