Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Ambulatory Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Clinic team. Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant or LPN in our Ambulatory ENT Clinic, your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing examination and treatment areas according to clinic standards
Completing patient rooming procedures, including vital signs, data collection, and other identified components specific to the clinic setting
Accurately administering and documenting unit dose medications/immunizations in accordance with clinic policy
Performing EKGs and laboratory testing per CLIA license of the clinic
Ensuring accurate and concise documentation in patient records
Completing assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed
Assisting with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered/directed
Distributing pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials and directing patient questions to providers or RNs
Functioning within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities
Performing all other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility
Certification: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire
Any Medical Assistant hired between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2024, may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification
Any Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024, must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
Education: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
Certification: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience; 1+ years of healthcare experience
