As a Media Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the sustainability and stability of our technical environments for live media production and distribution. About the Role We're seeking an experienced Media Engineer II to join our team in the Philippines. This 100% remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a dynamic team that drives technological innovation. As a Media Engineer II, you'll be responsible for sustaining and troubleshooting our existing technology infrastructure, with opportunities to work on system integration projects and contribute to the growth of our engineering team. Key Responsibilities Respond to and resolve issues affecting production, broadcast, and content distribution across multiple DEE networks, including system outages, malfunctions, and technical problems. Conduct diagnostic testing, repair, and replacement activities to solve routine, specialized, and complex problems, utilizing system health and performance monitoring software and platforms. Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals in traditional SDI and IP 2110 essence flow routing environments, as well as cloud platforms as necessary. Manage third-party service providers by enforcing agreed-upon scope of services within signed service agreements. Provide operational support for activities related to operating, maintaining, and programming audio and video production/distribution systems across the enterprise. Perform upgrades to system hardware and software workflows under the supervision of a more experienced engineer or supervisor. Participate in complex engineering projects at the direction of more experienced engineers and review, maintain, and contribute to system/workflow documentation. Essential Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience in ensuring efficient sustainment, uptime, and overall stability of technical environments for live media production and distribution. Proficiency with technologies like microservices, DevOps tools, design principles, practices, standards, and guidelines. Scripting proficiency (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell) is an advantage. Knowledge of SMPTE standards for broadcast television and video production/streaming environments, with current certification (e.g., ST 292M, ST 424M, ST 2110). Experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms, with at least one foundational cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate). Knowledge of compression techniques (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS) and experience with major media systems and vendors (e.g., Evertz, asset management systems, file-based workflows). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent major, and/or equivalent work experience.
