Key Responsibilities
Teach students in grades K-12 using Mathnasium's customized learning plans, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
Assist students with homework completion, ensuring they understand and apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems.
Develop and maintain a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to ask questions, explore, and learn.
Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methodologies.
Work collaboratively with other instructors to share best practices, discuss student progress, and continuously improve our teaching methods.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, providing regular updates to parents and guardians.
Contribute to the overall success of our Mathnasium center, participating in events, and promoting our programs to the local community.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will need:
Strong math proficiency up to Algebra; proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred.
Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam, demonstrating your mastery of math concepts from 2nd grade and up.
Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (3-4 hours per shift) in the afternoons after 3 pm.
A clear record on state and national background checks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
