About the Role: Math Teacher/Tutor
As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in helping students in grades K-12 achieve their math goals and develop a growth mindset. Key Responsibilities:
Teach students in grades K-12 math concepts and skills, using Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and materials
Assess student progress, identify areas of strength and weakness, and develop personalized learning plans
Provide one-on-one and small group instruction, as well as homework help and test preparation
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success and progress
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching methods
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
Math proficiency up to Algebra, with proficiency through Geometry and Calculus preferred
Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (material from 2nd grade and up)
Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts, with a minimum of 3-4 hours per shift
Clear record on a state and national background check
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching or tutoring math to students in grades K-12
Familiarity with Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching methods
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional strategies that support student-centered learning
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and growth-oriented mindset
