Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Part-Time Algebra Tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students who require guidance in Algebra, Chemistry, and Science. Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized tutoring sessions that cater to the individual needs of each student. You will be required to: Prepare lesson plans for each tutoring session to ensure that students receive the most effective instruction Provide session reports to our office and families within 24 hours of each tutoring session, detailing the progress made and areas for improvement Effectively balance tutoring hours for each assigned student, ensuring that they receive the support they need to succeed Respond to existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a professional and timely manner Follow up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours, ensuring that we can continue to provide them with the support they need Service students whose needs align with your areas of expertise, ensuring that you can provide the most effective instruction and support Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field, with a preference for experience in tutoring or teaching in specialized education fields Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus, but not a requirement Experience with basic database/data entry and strong administration skills Ability to prepare lesson plans and adapt to different learning styles Strong typing, PC, and recording skills, with access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone Reliable transportation with current car insurance is a must, as you will be required to travel to students' homes for tutoring sessions A personality that is suited for working with different types of students, with a passion for inspiring and motivating them to reach their full potential Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience working with students who have varying learning styles and abilities Knowledge of curriculum design and development Experience with online tutoring platforms and technology Ability to speak multiple languages, with a preference for Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the Old Hickory, TN area Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Tutoring of Nashville, we are committed to the growth and development of our tutors.
