Job Overview
We're seeking qualified Math and Science tutors to provide in-home tutoring to junior high and high school students in Pearland and Friendswood. As a Tutor Doctor Pearland tutor, you'll have the opportunity to work with students who require personalized attention and guidance. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the TEKS curriculum and skilled in teaching local curriculum, study skills, and other relevant content.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one tutoring to junior high and high school students in Math and Science
Develop and implement personalized tutoring session plans to meet the unique needs of each student
Teach STAAR prep and other relevant curriculum to help students achieve academic success
Utilize strong typing, PC, and recording skills to maintain accurate records and reports
Travel to student locations within a 30-minute radius
Maintain reliable communication with students, parents, and Tutor Doctor Pearland staff
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (preferred)
Teacher's certification or relevant teaching experience (preferred)
Understanding of local curriculum and TEKS standards
Minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching and/or tutoring
Strong organizational and time management skills
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to student locations
Access to a computer, internet, and smartphone
Additionally, we prefer candidates with:
Active teaching certification or experience as a substitute teacher or paraprofessional
Special Education teaching experience or background
Subject matter expertise in Math and Science
Experience working with junior high and high school students
Skills and Competencies
