We're now seeking an Experienced Long Term Substitute Teacher for High School English - British Literature to join our team on our West Hills campus in Chatsworth, CA. About the Role We're looking for a dynamic, innovative, and engaging educator to fill a long-term substitute teaching position for our High School English department, specifically teaching British Literature. This is a full-time assignment expected to begin immediately and last from 12 weeks to the end of the Fall semester. As a Long Term Substitute Teacher, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our students continue to receive a high-quality education while our regular teacher is away. Key Responsibilities Teach British Literature to high school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs. Utilize technology to enhance student learning, as we're a 1:1 tablet school that values innovative teaching methods. Manage the classroom effectively, maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues to maximize student learning, sharing best practices and contributing to the school's mission. Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and reporting to parents and guardians as needed. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related discipline. A teaching certificate or credential, preferably in the subject discipline. Prior high school teaching experience, ideally in a Catholic educational setting. We're particularly interested in candidates who: Hold a master's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Have a proven track record of innovative teaching practices and classroom management. Are comfortable integrating technology into their teaching methods.
