Job Summary As a Learning Coach/Tutor at Claremont School, you'll provide individualized support to middle and high school students, helping them grasp new concepts and complete assignments. This is a part-time, non-exempt position that requires a strong foundation in relevant subjects, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds. You'll work closely with the Manager of Extended Learning Programs to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities Tutor students through online platforms such as Amplify or IReady, facilitating individual and small group sessions virtually or in-person. Study lesson plans and provide instructional support to students, assigning additional projects and answering questions about specific topics. Maintain accurate records, including attendance rosters, student progress, and other required documentation. Participate in ongoing professional development, including training on issues of racial equity and equity in general. Attend professional development sessions to learn and facilitate school-based academic platforms. Organize and collect data from student results, using this information to inform instruction and drive student progress. Manage scheduled tutoring sessions, ensuring timely and effective support for students. Establish and maintain communication with school staff about student progress and program aspects. Complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Provide verbal and written reports to the Manager of Extended Learning Programs, highlighting student progress and program effectiveness. Participate in mandatory departmental meetings, agency meetings, and events, contributing to a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need: A commitment to working with students from a strength-based perspective, recognizing their potential and promoting their growth. A positive attitude, mature and professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills. Authorization for a background check for criminal and child protective findings. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Teams, and Excel. Professional writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Experience working with middle and high school students, either in a teaching or tutoring capacity. Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational software. Background in education, social work, or a related field.
