We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a night shift, full-time or part-time basis. As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will be a leader in the provision of patient care, using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members, assume accountability for quality patient outcomes, and exhibit sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Labor and Delivery RN, your key responsibilities will include:
Effectively using the nursing process in the delivery of patient care
Assessing learning needs and implementing teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family, and other groups or disciplines
Communicating, delegating, and managing nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team
Using data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes
Embracing concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing
Adapting behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style
Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing and certification in a clinical specialty area
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
Excellent organizational and time management skills
