As a remote IRS professional with Workwarp, you will play a critical role in supporting the Wage & Investment (W&I) Division, which is responsible for processing tax returns and providing taxpayer services. About the Role This is a unique opportunity to work with the IRS in a remote capacity, providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of tax processing activities. As an IRS careers remote professional, you will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks, reviewing documents, and maintaining records. Key Responsibilities Perform administrative tasks using an automated system, including assigning, maintaining, monitoring, or updating work status and inventory records. Review Forms W-2 attached to Forms 1040EZ and 1040PC for conditions meeting Criminal Investigation criteria and code the returns accordingly. Prepare and maintain regular production/inventory reports/attendance records using established formats and sources of data. Review documents for specific requirements necessary for processing. Periodically review filed material and determine if it should be consolidated, have new classifications, be retired, etc. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: Be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Undergo a review of prior performance/conduct and an income tax verification. Successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check). Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. In terms of qualifications, the IRS is looking for individuals with: One year of experience in administrative or clerical work, which may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or Volunteer Service. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Proficiency in using automated systems and software applications. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred: Experience working with tax-related documents and processes. Knowledge of IRS procedures and policies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
