Experienced Instructional Support Specialist – Dynamic Educational Setting with Diverse Responsibilities and Opportunities for Growth

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Instructional Support Specialist to join our team at Karluk School. As an Instructional Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of clerical, accounting, technical, and instructional support services to our students, teachers, and staff. Key Responsibilities
Coordinate, prepare, plan, and direct a variety of services involving admissions and records input, retrieval, and maintenance, as well as student registration
Monitor student demographic and achievement data to ensure that performance measurements are accurately reported to students, parents, head teachers, and principals
Assist students with the technical and instructional aspects of completing distance learning and/or homeschool courses, including tutorial assistance and support with two-way audio/video sessions and elluminate sessions
Perform a variety of accounting work, including reviewing, entering, and maintaining reports, budgets, and expenditure reviews of individual student accounts and learning center accounts
Provide financial reports to lead teachers and principals, and work with local employers to access information for students receiving credit for individual employment plans
Work directly with clients (parents/students) and partners (Alaska On-Line, NDIS, etc.) to assist in the delivery of our programs
Perform routine but somewhat varied clerical and general typing duties, following standard procedures in support of the operations, preparation, and maintenance of a variety of records and reports
Work with students, staff, and parents to troubleshoot technical problems and provide support as needed
Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent, with experience or training in general office procedures
Rapid and accurate typing skills, with a minimum of 40 words per minute
Ability to work well with the public, students, staff, and parents, and to maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and school business information
Ability to operate current office technology, including computers, software, and other equipment
Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Valid and current Alaska motor vehicle operator's license, with no insurance restrictions, for transporting students and making home visits
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
Experience working in an educational setting, with knowledge of instructional support services and distance learning programs
Skills assessment testing tools, such as scholastic reading inventory, homeroom, skills tutor, and dibels
Experience working with students of varying ages and backgrounds, including diverse cultures, learning styles, and learning abilities
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
