About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Designer II to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and creative solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers. Key Responsibilities
Provide technical skill, knowledge, and judgment to ensure designs meet the customer's specific needs
Provide technical input and support in the advancement of materials and design development
Design returnable packaging dunnage utilizing SolidWorks/Inventor software
Perform "Design for Manufacturing" and standard check doc process as required
Manage multiple projects effectively while communicating regularly to stakeholders and meeting project timing commitments
Support the activities necessary to meet or exceed the financial objectives of both sales growth and profitability for this offering
Support the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and procedures as appropriate
Ensure project requirements are clear, customer needs are met, and vetting projects as needed when information is vague or not available
Ensure ISO compliance and adherence to all processes within the group
Design products per ORBIS standards and guidelines
Essential Qualifications
Strong communication skills with multiple departments
Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and strong time management skills
Creativity, focus, desire, motivation, open-mindedness, and a team-oriented approach
Ability to handle the stress of working with others and lead by example
Availability outside of normal business hours and willingness to travel up to 5% to other ORBIS locations and customer locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in packaging design and development
Knowledge of SolidWorks/Inventor software and design principles
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
