Experienced Import Forwarding Manager - Logistics Operations & Team Leadership

Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and control logistics operations to ensure high-level service to customers Select, train, and develop a team of direct reports (2-30) and indirect reports (1-30) Conduct meetings to provide employees with information regarding division/operation and administer disciplinary procedures Maintain accurate records, including reports, payroll, performance reviews, goals, and personal record statistics Implement and maintain safety methods and programs Instruct employees on methods to instill a service-conscious attitude and minimize service failures Ensure cost-effectiveness of operations through control of equipment, utilities, and supplies Maintain contact with customers (internal and external) regarding conditions affecting service level Control movement and activities of related products to ensure maximum efficiency Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A 4-year degree in business or equivalent experience A minimum of 5 years of business experience in the logistics industry A minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory experience Strong basic management, human relations, and communications skills Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a 24/7 operations environment Experience supporting multiple supervisors and a team of 14 Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm work schedule Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent leadership and team management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions Knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Career Growth Opportunities As a member of the FedEx Logistics team, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities, including: Professional development programs Training and mentorship Opportunities for advancement within the company Work Environment and Company Culture FedEx Logistics is committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.
