Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and caring Home Care Assistant to provide a range of personal care services and homemaker tasks to support the physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing of our clients. As a Home Care Assistant, you will work independently under the direction of our home care director, with clinical support from our community nurse. Key Responsibilities Perform job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of The Loomis Communities, adhering to our Compliance and Ethics Program. Demonstrate an awareness of, a respect for, and attention to the diversity of the people with whom you interact, including residents, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders. Interact with residents by providing direct personal care, medication reminders, escorts, transportation, shopping, and supportive homemaker services to promote independence and choice. Maximize residents' overall wellbeing through knowledge of residents' interests and using that knowledge to encourage residents to continue engaging in pursuits that foster continued wellness. Attend to the wellbeing of residents and include residents in decision making regarding their care in accordance with a personalized plan of care/service plan. Maintain and complete required documentation. Provide clear, timely communication related to changes in health, emotion, and behaviors to direct supervisor. Meet educational, training, and competency requirements on time, including SAMMS. Respond to emergency situations in a prompt and calm manner and provide basic first aid care when needed within the limits of training and the policies of The Loomis Communities. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School Graduate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) Massachusetts Driver's License CPR Certification Preferred Qualifications We also welcome applicants with the following preferred qualifications: Nursing or other health-related undergraduate programs Previous experience working with long-term care clients, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Home Health Aide Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Basic first aid and CPR skills Knowledge of residents' interests and preferences Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits We are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
