The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music performance and accompaniment, with the ability to prepare music to a high level of proficiency prior to the first rehearsal. The accompanist will work closely with the classroom teacher to lead students in rehearsal, attend and accompany all events for District and State Solo and Ensemble contests, and provide a positive and flexible attitude in cooperating with the classroom teacher. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare music to a high level of proficiency prior to the first rehearsal * Accompany all required events participating in district/state solo and ensemble contests, with repertoire varying in style and difficulty * Lead students in rehearsal, if needed * Attend and accompany all events for District and State Solo and Ensemble contests * Be flexible and positive in cooperating with the classroom teacher * Participate in dress rehearsal, district contest, and state contest as scheduled **Performance Responsibilities** * Come to all rehearsals prepared on each event's repertoire * Be able to lead students in rehearsal, if needed * Be flexible and positive in cooperating with the classroom teacher * Attend and accompany all events for District and State Solo and Ensemble contests **Qualifications** * Capable of preparing music to the point of proficiency prior to the first rehearsal * Playing ability at, or above, accompanying high school musicians * Must submit and pass a background check **Essential Skills and Competencies** * Strong background in music performance and accompaniment * Ability to prepare music to a high level of proficiency prior to the first rehearsal * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other staff members * Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment * Strong organizational and time management skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working with high school bands and solo and ensemble contests * Strong knowledge of music theory and performance practices * Ability to lead students in rehearsal and provide constructive feedback * Experience with music software and technology **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
