About the Role We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to instruct small groups of students in math, focusing on building their core skills and promoting long-term understanding of topics. As a Math Instructor at Vanguard College Prep, you will be responsible for: Instructing students in math, using our unique multi-phase curriculum to promote individualized growth and improvement Tracking student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing targeted lesson plans to address these needs Modeling professionalism and strong organizational skills, maintaining timely communication with students, and updating student lesson schedules on our online platform Developing and executing innovative lesson plans, using practical, real-world examples to inspire a love of learning in our students Mentoring middle and high school students with empathy and understanding, recognizing the increasing competitiveness and stress of the college application process Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred, but we are open to entry-level candidates with a strong passion for teaching) Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a college-level tutoring center (1+ years) A GPA of 3.5 or higher Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction The ideal candidate will also possess: Experience teaching at the college or community college level A robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans A desire to help students recognize, reach for, and realize their fullest potential A dynamic and outgoing personality The ability to work both independently and in a team environment Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics Why Teach with Vanguard College Prep?
