Job Summary We're seeking an experienced Transportation Area Manager to lead our private fleet transportation office in Apple Valley, CA. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high levels of engagement between our office, drivers, dispatchers, distribution centers, and stores. You'll also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve our supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of inbound and outbound freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to our stores and distribution centers. Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Lead and motivate our team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics coordinators to achieve exceptional performance and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including transportation, logistics, and distribution, to ensure seamless execution of our supply chain operations. Develop and implement metrics to measure and improve our supply chain performance, including on-time delivery, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction. Identify and address associate, customer, and supplier concerns by listening, consulting with others when needed, and determining corrective action to take or making recommendations to resolve. Oversee and develop associates by assigning responsibilities, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling logistics and company procedures, and identifying training needs. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications: Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or 1 year of Walmart Logistics experience, or 1 year of transportation experience. 1+ years of experience in logistics and transportation, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices. Proven track record of success in leading and motivating teams to achieve exceptional performance and customer satisfaction. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement metrics to measure and improve supply chain performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial for this role: Microsoft Office skills, with experience in data analytics, data mining, quality scorecards, and providing insights from analysis. Supervising associates, with experience in developing and implementing training programs and procedures. Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
